What I am wanting today. Worry Free.

Thank God I am married to a man that is chill.
I try to be chill. I want to be chill. I am not chill all the time.
I worry, about stupid crap.

This needs to be posted on my forehead.
God is good, I know He speaks this to me ALLTHETIME!
Lord, you make me smile. Thank you for your goodness...

Master Bedroom Woes...

So... since we moved into our home over two-years ago I can not for the life of me get the master bedroom to my liking.
I want this master. There are beautiful layers, it is cozy, there is a seating area and the look is eclectic. I love.
My mission before winter comes is to make this "look" happen.
Wish me luck!

Why I avoid the parabens...

As with my diet changing while trying to conceive my daughter I had to change my beauty products as well and here is why:

One -
Parabens are a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in pharmaceutical and beautiful products (shampoo, conditioners, lotion, makeup, even toothpaste). As with preservatives in food and us as a culture wanting to avoid them we must do the same thing with our beauty routine!
Chemicals used as preservatives = no no

Two -
Did you know that the body reads parabens as estrogen, they mimic estrogen. Too much estrogen has been linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues.

No matter your opinion parabens are a chemical that have been linked to two things that I would rather not mess with ever again. There are also some really great products out there that are Paraben free. Why not be safe than sorry?!

Here are a few of my favorites:

This fragrance is honestly my favorite. I use the pure vanilla scent. It is yummy.

Secondly, their deodorant is awesome!! It took me a really long time to find one with no aluminum that did not leave me feeling like I was sweaty and stinky within an hour. This one did the trick!!
(Lavanila Products can be found at Sephora or Beautybar.com)

My face gets really dry here in the east come fall/ winter. I started using this product last fall and have been using it ever since!
BWC cleansing milk with lavender.
This soap is the best and you can honestly use it to clean anything. I use it purely as a shower bar soap. It is gentle, organic and smells great!
(Can you tell I am all about scents!?)
Dr. Bronners Almond castile soap.
What is better to go with the almond soap that you used in the shower than some yummy almond lotion by Desert Essence?!
I do get most of my products from Soap.com. They have a wide selection and I get them the next day. Love.

As you can see, I do not feel that I have had to sacrifice quality, yummy factor or price to go paraben free!
These are only a few of the products that I use. There are also some really great hair products, make-up, etc. If anyone has any questions or would like to know what I use let me know!

Silver.

While I do L..O..V..E the fall colors, I am thinking I may whip out some silver loven for my "winter" decorations once Thanksgiving has passed.

I must not get ahead of myself with the muggy 80 degree weather that we are having. Boy, has this been one long, hot summer. No, I am not complaining. teeheehee...

This silver pumpkin with personalized push pins will be all over the place in (& around) the Keefe home...

I do love lanterns and anything Moroccan. These are beautiful and winter-y cozy.

What is for dinner tonight...

Since the hubby is gone for work I get to whip out another one of my favorites (that he doesn't like) for dinner:
Portabella  burgers.
(I threw on a little goat cheese to make it extra decedent. yooommm!)

The zoo!!

We ventured out to yet another zoo on Saturday. It was beautiful out.
My pretty girl had a blast!

(Even tho all of the exhibits that we were looking forward to seeing were under construction and for some reason Turtleback zoo thought that people came to see birds?! Seriously, there were TONS of random birds in cages. I did not come to see vultures, I came to see exotic animals people)

Can you tell we are getting tired from running all over the zoo?!

The one thing that Lilly was reallllllyyy looking forward to seeing.
This guy.

More fall-ness...

With cooler temps, falling leaves, red wine and dying mosquito's (those lil bastards haven been eating my baby up all summer long!) on the horizon I have some more Fall wishes on my list.

Image as seen below because I do believe in bucket lists. This is mine for Fall 2011. I dig it.

These pretties are going to adorn my dining room table after I visit the farm & pick my pretty little pumpkins out in a few short weeks; or days.

Yup. This owl pumpkin is happening. On my front porch. This Fall. The end.

Everyone needs a cozy standby outfit. This will be mine. Awesome! :)

What is for dinner tonight...

Well, it was last night but let me tell you...it was awesome and I am adding it to the file!
Since my "reboot" I have been on the hunt for meals that stick to the "food combining" rules.
This is one of em!

Lisa  at "With Style and Grace" always has the greatest recipes. I have just copied a few more and can not wait to try them.
If you have not been over to her blog, by all means get over and take a peak!

These were her Eggplant and veggie roll-ups! Yum!
(even the hubby that is not a fan of eggplant did like these)

Do they not look soooo good?!

Verses...

So you know those days when you are saying stuff, and as it leaves your mouth you are wanting to real it back in and pretend like it did not happen?!
Well, I sure have had one of those weeks. I realize it is only Monday...A) I feel like a full week was covered in just this one day and B) The last week of my life has been filled with cleansing (no caffeine or wine for starters), etc.......($&*@())!!&!&!^~&@()
Lets just say I should have said this prayer a few thousand times over the last 7-days.

She does inspire me...

I could be having the crappiest day ever, pulling Lilly out of the car at Target (daily...) & she squeals "cute!!! aawwee birdie".
This happened the other day and this little family of birds was playing in a dirty rain puddle in the parking lot.
My daughter finds beauty and joy anywhere and with such simple things.
She inspires me daily to look for little pretty things to lift my day.

Fall is in the air...

While mourning the ending of summer I have no choice but to embrace a little Fall home decor to get me more in the mood. (This rain and chill in the air is helping...not.)

Here are some cool ideas I found this morning:

I am rebooting.

Ever since we started seeing a nutritionist over 2-years ago we have been urged to go raw.
With the ever growing popularity of juicing, raw foods and the increasing toxicity of food in our society I have wanted to change the way we eat drastically for some time.

The journey did begin over two years ago when I found out I had PCOS and we were unable to conceive our little girl on our own.
Our nutritionist assured us that we could solve this problem with the very way we ate rather than the use of medical infertility treatments.
I believed her but I was antsy so we did both. That said, we began a drastic change in how and what we ate back then. We began food combining, investing in organic foods to feed us throughout the week, herbs, the implementation of the pH Miracle diet & later feeding our daughter raw (goats milk, vegetables, etc.).

Unfortunately, these days we can not get away with eating and drinking the foods that I grew up eating. Food and farming is not what it used to be 30-years ago. The majority of food in our society is in fact toxic. That scares me. With a little more investment in our food and a little more prep time I am hoping to keep my family healthier in the long run.

These transitions have been easier along the way thanks to my Mom and the way that we grew up eating. We ALWAYS had lots of fresh vegetables and grains on our plate. Thank you Mom! You knew eating healthy would mold us and keep us tip-top for life. I love you!

Every few months I like to do a cleanse. This is the latest: The Reboot Program. This was introduced to me by my little sis Cassie and to her by our cousin Shelly. I thank you both b/c I have been looking for a way to change this household a bit when it comes to diet and to try raw. I think throwing myself into this 100% come tomorrow AM is the best way. There are recipes and meal plans and my hope is that once this week is over I will have a better grip on how to get these meals implemented into our lifestyle. I have also found this awesome website Raw Guru to help with some yummy recipes. Lets face it; love coffee, I love food and I love wine. Lets hope this transition is not too painful.
Pray for me.

It has been since the week that my 2-year old was born that I have been to the gym.
I miss it. I miss running. It is my therapy. I need to get back in the rhythm.

My struggle has been finding a consistent time of the day for "me time".
What do all of you ladies do to find time to get out and work out?

Well...whatevs. No matter what I am going to get some new jogging clothes and I am going to get moving! These are a few on my list!
